Paul Phelps

Paul Phelps is the founder of Sun Sport Aviation with a mission to help others “Experience the Joy of Aviation” and “Let Your Dreams take Flight!” He is an FAA Certified Flight Instructor: Airplane Single-Engine, Airplane Multiengine, Instrument Airplane with 2400 hours of dual instruction given.

Paul is also a military Instructor Pilot and Instrument Examiner in Blackhawk helicopters with 820 hours dual given. Over his 40 years of flying military rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft, and civilian fixed-wing aircraft, he has accumulated over 7600 hours of combined flight experience.

Paul is also the Vice-President of the EAA Chapter 371 in Portage. He also works with the EAA’s Young Eagles program.

Emmanuel Torres

Emmanuel Torres is a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI) who brings both precision and genuine passion to flight training. With over 500 hours of dual instruction given, he has trained students from Private through Instrument and Commercial levels in both Part 61 and Part 141 environments.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Emmanuel began his aviation journey with a deep interest in both flying and teaching. He previously instructed in Fort Myers, Florida, and now trains students in Wisconsin, giving him experience across a wide range of flying conditions. His teaching style is structured and safety-focused, with an emphasis on clear communication, strong fundamentals, and efficient progression toward checkride readiness.

Emmanuel is known for adapting his instruction to each student’s learning style and for creating a supportive, disciplined training environment. He views flight instruction as a long-term profession and is committed to developing confident, capable pilots who are prepared for real-world flying.

Monet Gregory

Hi, I’m Monet! I was born and raised in Hawaii, but my passion for aviation brought me all the way to Wisconsin to complete my flight training.

I’m a CFII and MEI, and I love working with students at all stages—from brand-new pilots to those pursuing instrument and commercial ratings. My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging environment while helping you become a safe, confident pilot.

When I’m not flying, you can find me reading or building Legos. I’m dedicated to my students and take pride in helping each one reach the finish line.
